What is anxiety?
Anxiety is a general term for nervousness, fear, apprehension and worry that impacts our daily lives.
It affects how we feel and behave, and can in many cases manifest into physical symptoms, as well as negative emotional symptoms including the following:
-
Sense of helplessness
-
Confusion
-
Apprehension
-
Worry, and
-
Continuous and unwanted negative thoughts
Mild anxiety is vague and unsettling. Severe anxiety, however, can have a serious impact on our daily life.
Often people feel a general state of apprehension prior to an exam, interview, test, or recital and these feelings are normal. It is the body’s way of preparing us for peak performance, it would in fact be worrying if you were not a bit nervous!
Anxiety is considered a problem, when it interferes with our ability to sleep, or function normally. Other problems can occur as a result, such as eating disorders, depression and substance abuse. So it’s very important to address anxiety as soon as you feel any symptoms, emotional or physical!
Physical symptoms of anxiety can be wide ranging, and include one or all of the following:
-
Shortness of breath
-
Dizziness
-
Heart palpitations
-
Shaking or even trembling
-
Sweating
-
Nausea
-
Compulsive behaviours, such as nail biting or skin picking
-
Insomnia or sleep problems
-
Teeth grinding
-
Stuttering, blushing or having your mind go blank in social situations (social anxiety)
-
Panic attacks
When you are feeling depressed, it can seem like nothing can help, and nothing will ever change…
Depression, if not treated at an early stage, it can be debilitating.
Although, when you are depressed, it may feel like you cannot derive pleasure anymore from things you used to enjoy, and you see everything through grey-tinted glasses and you feel hopeless and a lack of energy now, things CAN change for you.
Modern medicines may not offer you a complete and successful treatment, and chances of recurring depression are more in such cases.
This is the reason why many depression patients and their families have started opting for alternative treatment options that can offer better results. One of the popular alternative treatment options for depression is Hypnotherapy. It has been found to be extremely beneficial.
I work with you to gain control over your anxiety or depression and your life will flourish again.

Why should you consider hypnotherapy for depression?
An increasing number of people suffer from depression - it has become a common issue.
If you are a depression patient or have a family member that is suffering from depression, here is why you must consider hypnotherapy as a treatment:
Most people believe that if they go for hypnotherapy, they will be hypnotized and have to surrender their free will. This is a myth. You will be in your full control.
Hypnotherapy anxiety and depression treatment involves taking you into a stage of heightened imagination where you will be extremely relaxed and will be open for positive suggestions and discussions, which is otherwise very difficult to achieve in depressed people. The hypnotherapist will come up with best possible suggestions to help you overcome depression.
Hypnotherapy uses your imagination and not medicines
Treatment with Hypnotherapy doesn’t require any medication. The hypnotherapist offering treatment for depression in our clinic in South Melbourne will help you make behavioural modifications by helping you control your emotions and release the negativity that lies in your subconscious mind.
This process basically involves finding out the root cause of depression and then curing it through appropriate counselling and hypnosis. You can use this as your primary method of treatment or undergo it along with conventional modern treatment.
No side effects
The biggest advantage of hypnotherapy is that it has no side effect as compared to anti-depressants that might cause fatigue, weight gain or weight loss, nausea, etc.
Further, withdrawal of anti-depressant also causes many side effects such as headaches, vomiting, and recurring depression. These issues are not associated with hypnotherapy making it a safer alternative for teens as well as adults.
If you or any of your family members is showing signs of depression, it’s high time to go for hypnotherapy.
Early detection and treatment will make it easier to overcome this issue.
